Building your personal brand with social media can seem very overwhelming when you’re just starting out. There are so many platforms and new ones popping up all the time.
When you’re already strapped for time trying to build your biz and brand while still working in your 9 to 5 job, family life…you might second-guess yourself if you can do this. I know what it’s like and had to find a way that works for me and my hectic schedule. I soon figured out that being all over the place wasn’t going to work if I want to build a powerful brand and get consistent results.
In today’s article, I want to share with 3 ways to kick start your personal branding with social media.
1. Be Clear on Who You Are Serving.
Your brand is not for everyone. Lock that in your mind. It would make building your biz and brand much easier. Your brand is for a very specific audience, the type of people that you want to attract for your products and services. 2. Choose a Dominant Social Media Platform.
Choose one or two dominant social media platforms. A dominant platform is where you’re showing up to share your content consistently and engaging with your audience. For example, you may decide to show up and do a daily 20 minute Facebook Live broadcast, if that works for you. Or, you can dedicate your time to being on Instagram engaging (liking, commenting, regraming, etc) several times a day. It’s where your audience can experience your presence. This is how you continue to build up the know, like and trust factor when your audience can get an human experience with you.
The goal is to humanize your brand. Let your peeps know you’re a real people.
Also, take time to understand your audience. You can learn a lot about your audience by reviewing your analytics data. Your analytics would show you the best time to post based on when your audience is checking out your content, which posts are getting the most likes, views, shares, etc.
Remember, to run your business like a CEO.
So, make sure that you take the time to understand the online behavior of your ideal client with your content.
3. Develop a Consistent Marketing Activity.
Social media is a tool with the purpose of driving traffic to your website to gain a new subscriber to your email list and eventually lead to a sale.
In order to do that, you need to have a consistent marketing activity, for example:
- Hosting Webinars
There so many ways you can get your marketing messages out there, but these are some of the common ways.
Marketing is a form of communication. You want to have a form of communication that you do consistently.
